For many of us, the end of the year is the perfect time to reflect on our accomplishments and successes over the past twelve months, as well as to think ahead on what we’d like to improve both personally and professionally in the new year.

At Creative Campbellville, we’re always striving to grow and exceed our own goals for ourselves, which include everything from getting up earlier in the morning to exercise to having a better work/life balance, developing a new work process or taking the steps to learn a new skill that will benefit our clients.

We asked our team to share what they’re working on improving for 2020 and beyond, and here were some of their thoughts:

“I started taking a yoga class in September and I love it so much! It took me out of my comfort zone but has been totally worth it. Also, if I’ve had a busy day, I have brief thoughts of not going and staying on the couch. But I then think about how much I love it and overtake those thoughts with positive ones. My resolution is to continue doing yoga and to take more classes per week” – Matt Howell

“I want to take what I have learned about content development and strategy and apply it more seriously towards my side hustle. I spend time learning about and utilizing content strategy for my full-time writing job and freelance assignments I do; but when it comes to promoting my own personal Fibre Art business (Gaudy Grandma) I find I just post and hope it works! I want 2020 to be the year I create a better work-life balance by treating my side hustle more like a business than a hobby. I also really want to focus efforts towards building a website. All of these efforts will help me move towards treating Gaudy Grandma as a piece of my professional life rather than personal.

I also bought a ski pass at the mountain near my house. This is my first year ever signing up to do downhill skiing! Although snow starts flying in late October/early November in Thunder Bay, so maybe it’s technically not a New Year Resolution, I consider it a resolution I would love to uphold!

Lastly, I want to spend more time moving. From riding my bike more to getting to the gym and lifting heavy weights again, I want 2020 to be the year I am patient with myself as I am getting back into the swing of things and stick through it until it feels natural again” – Vikki Schembri

As for myself, my new year’s resolutions are to return to leisurely reading (aiming for one book a month), build more strength at the gym, and to be more mindful in my day to day endeavours which includes enjoying more of the present moment and remaining open to opportunities.  2020 is looking to be an exciting year already!
